Don Peay- Matt Peay

Don Peay is 54 years old, father of 4 children, and grandfather of 3 children. He is married to Sue Peay. Don grew up on a small farm in Provo, Utah. He would grow up to be the first Peay to attend college, he attended Brigham Young University.

While at BYU, he earned two degrees, the first in chemical engineering, the second in business management. Don would work for several years at Hercules Aerospace. He would soon be a major factor in passing Prop 5, a restriction on government control on hunting and fishing. He also passed a bill that delisted wolves from the endangered species act. Him and his company were the first to alter that list in 35 years. He would become a major contributor in campaigning for Mitt Romney in the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections.

Don is now living happily in his Utah home with only one child left in the house, me. Don is slowing down somewhat and hopes to retire sometime in the near future.

Don keeps himself young by taking care of his body at age 54. If you were to go down to Gold’s Gym in bountiful, you would be sure to see him working out. He also goes on hikes and eats right. He also has a great work ethic. He spends hours working in his office, often late at night or very early in the morning. He has passed down these traits to me, and that is why he is my hero. Don has great qualities, and has a great resume (As shown in the sidebar) and he is my father.

Don is a hero because he was very courageous. He had the courage to become the first Peay to attend college. He had a lot of adversity that he had to overcome. He worked really hard to provide for our family, and now all of the work is paying off. This is just one of his many heroic acts.
